Online Security Tips
While SBI Singapore has put in place various security measures to ensure online security and protection of your account information, you, as an internet banking user, do play an important role in protecting yourself online. By simply adhering to some healthy security practices, you can help us to maintain safe and secure online banking facilities for you -
Your internet banking PIN (Personal Identification Number) should be unique and confidential. You should not use it for any other applications / devices.
You are advised not to use any personal data such as your date of birth, telephone number, NRIC number, sequential numbers like 123456, 111111 etc., for your internet banking PIN.
Please ensure that your internet banking PIN packet is not opened / damaged when it is delivered to you by the Bank.
Memorize your PIN and destroy the envelope. Do not write it down or keep it in your wallet or purse, mobile phone, computer etc.
You will be asked to change the preset PIN once you log into your internet banking account for the first time. Please change your PIN regularly on an ongoing basis.
A system generated default user ID will be provided to you at the time of account opening. This user ID can be changed only once. You may select a suitable user ID with different combinations which makes it difficult for an onlooker to guess.
While you should be able to remember your internet banking PIN, you can make it difficult for someone else to guess the same by using alpha numeric combinations. It is a proven security method to use numeric or special characters and upper or lower cases in a PIN to enhance security, for e.g. ‘rH!n0’ can be used instead of ‘rhino’.
Do not share your internet banking PIN with anyone (not even with the bank staff, police etc).
