A minimum balance of SGD 300 is required. The account can be opened with an initial deposit of SGD 100. However, the minimum balance of SGD 300 should be reached within the one month grace period.

Customers can transact using the Bank’s ATMs, Internet Banking, and at Points of Sale (POS) which accept MasterCard.
•
Cash withdrawals through ATM, Internet banking and POS transactions will be limited to a daily ceiling of SGD 2000 each.
•
No Cheque Book will be issued. Cash withdrawals through the branch are permitted if the customer makes the requisition in person.
•
Depositors under the scheme are eligible for SBI ATM cum Debit card. No charges will be levied on transactions done through SBI’s own ATMs in Singapore and India and at the various POS in Singapore which accept MasterCard. However, for transactions done through POS outside Singapore, usual charges apply.
•
Depositors under the scheme shall be eligible for Internet Banking facility.
•
Deposits are covered under SDIC upto the eligible limit
Eligibility:
•
Individuals of the age of 21 years and above are eligible to open a Savings Special account.
•
Minors of the age of 12 years and above and below 21 years are also eligible to open and operate the account independently, in case they are Singaporeans / Permanent Residents of Singapore.
•
In the case of minor children of age below 12 years, one of the parents/ legal guardian is allowed to open joint accounts in the names of the parent/legal guardian and minor child. However, the parent/legal guardian shall only be allowed to open, operate and close the account.
